1.
Pour me another drink, for every late hour spent thinking 'bout what could've been. Can I get just one little evening where I'm not the captain of a sinking ship. The highway used to excite me back when I knew that it could lead me home, now it's just a one way street, away from everyone I know. The night is catching up with me, I can't run fast enough. The road is now too dark to see and the times are getting rough. The night is catching up with me, I've nowhere left to hide. Baby, baby where could you be? I've searched far and wide. Pour me another glass, for every pair of shoes that have been sick of wandering. I've been thinking: these cards we were dealt could never be a winning hand. And I swear, one of these days I'm gonna set this whole town on fire, just to see if burning memories smell as sweet as in my dreams.
2.
I swear I don't remember the way I used to kissed you, or the way that your palm felt, pressed into mine. Memory's a fickle thing and a cruel mistress, too; what's not lost with the years is now drowned in the wine. But the thing that I recall, most of all, are White lilies in your garden, clutching for the sky; white lilies, that you grew. I catch that look sometimes, burning from across the room. I know, baby. I miss you too. I swear I can't even picture your face in my mind when I find myself thinking 'bout the times that we had. I leave my sorrow now, like you left me behind, and I step into tommorow, it can't be all that bad. But the thing that I remember, a cold November and White lilies in your garden, clutching for the sky; white lilies, that you grew. I catch that look sometimes, burning from across the room. I know, baby. I miss you too.
